Paeans for Paper Dolls : A Reflection of Lost Literary Heroines is a set of 6 songs that explore the perspectives of heroines in classic literature and a young readers interpretation of these stories and the impact they can have. It is written for voice, chamber orchestra, and rhythm section.

This is the first movement of an original piece called "Portraits" responding to a series of self portraits by various photographers, I. Claude Cahun, II. Carrie Mae Weems, III. Imogen Cunningham.   The set was composed for piano, voice, poetry voice over, and electronic environmental sound and drone.
